Me Interrupting:
Lambda Literary Foundation set a new record in 2013 for both the number of LGBT books submitted for Lammy consideration, 687, and the number of publishers participating, 332. This beats the record-setting numbers in 2012 of 600 titles by over 250 publishers and is the fourth consecutive year of growth in submissions and publishers.
So… all those books and this year the bisexual category has been reduced from two to one called now Bisexual Literature. I would think this is a joke but they wouldn’t care enough to make one so in the net post I will talk about the Bisexual Awards, which I am excited about.
The 25th Annual Lambda Literary Awards seeks to recognize excellence in the field of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender literature. More than 90 literary professionals, including booksellers, book reviewers, librarians, authors, and previous Lammy winners and finalists volunteered countless hours of reading, critical thinking, and invigorating discussion to select the finalists in 22 categories. Winners will be announced during a ceremony on Monday evening, June 3, 2013.
