MTrailer: Salt

Salt (2010) If you frequent my corner of the web you’ll know that I have a major love for action movies, the best are “female oriented action movies” and it seems that Hollywood has given the role is given to a few, fuck it they give it to only one. Angelina Joile. Next year she has a movie coming out that hits all my buttons for me. I am so enjoying this trailer but I so wished there were more movies with women with action genre on their resume. Sigh.

Oscar AwardSynopsis:
[Call Me Al] Angelina Jolie stars in this thriller as Evelyn Salt, a loyal CIA operative who is in trouble when a defector names her as a Russian spy. Salt uses every skill and her years of experience to her disposal to elude capture by her colleagues. However every avenue she uses to prove her innocence, more suspicions come to light as they all begin to wonder, Who is Salt?

MTrailer: The Prisoner

The Prisoner (2009)
I didn’t know they were remaking “The Prisoner”. I watched the original series as a child on PBS. But this time is premiering on the AMC channel (combo producing of AMC and ITV) and from the previews it looks like an action action miniseries than the cerebral action television show of the 60’s. Either way it has Ian McKellen (as #2) and James Caviezel (as #6). I’m not a fan of this decade’s film and television TPTB’s need to remake and recycle every thing from the past but the battle between #6 and #2, whether action or cerebral, is something I really want to watch. So I go again into the breach and give hope that this is going to be good (It has Magneto and the Outlander, what could go wrong. :) ). It premieres November 09. See the 9 minute trailer below.

If you want to watch the original 17 episodes, AMC is streaming all of them to gear up for the premiere of the miniseries.

Oscar AwardSynopsis:
[AMC] A man known as Six (Jim Caviezel) finds himself trapped in a bizarre place called the “The Village” led by a man known as Two (Ian McKellen). Two holds the secrets of escape, and Six must defeat him — or else stay in The Village forever.

The Prisoner will premiere at 8PM | 7C over three nights.
Sun., Nov. 15: “Arrival” and “Harmony”
Mon., Nov. 16: “Anvil” and “Darling”
Tue., Nov. 17: “Schizoid” and “Checkmate”

MTrailer: Ninja Assassin

Ninja Assassin (2009)
I like action movies, I like violent movies but I don’t like horror or slasher films like “Saw”. I find those movies bad in gratuitous violence without any reasoning behind it. It feels creepy in a bad serial killer way, in “I never want this to be real anywhere in the world” way. How do these movies get a “R” instead of NC-17 rating will continue to baffle me. (Actually it doesn’t baffle me, a little brain power and apply with what’s going on in the -U.S. Health Industry- to the -Ratings Board (MPAA)/U.S. Movie Industry- can get great comparability.) Anyhoo, Ninja Assassin don’t seem to have that creepy evil equality but has the “purposeful violence” that I am looking for, so I’ve posted the trailer here. It is slated for November 2009.

Hey! Is this the same “Rain” that had the dance-off with Steven Colbert! Interest peaked!

Oscar AwardSynopsis:
[IDMB] Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.

In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.

MTrailer: Gamer

Gamer (2009)
I saw a different trailer/commercial for this movie and saw John Leguizamo first and thought hey he doesn’t make supremely sucky films, then I saw Gerard Butler who I think is adorable but learned very recently via the Craig Ferguson show that Americans have been pronouncing his first name wrong. Ooops. It is closer to the Jared, like the Subway guy. Anyhoo between them and Michael C. Hall, Ludacris, and Kyra Sedgwick. If not, Oscar it seems like a good popcorn movie.

Oscar AwardSynopsis:
[Wikipedia] In 2034, mind-control technology has taken society by storm, and a multiplayer on-line game called “Slayers” allows gamers to control human death row prisoners in mass-scale deathmatches. Any inmate who lives through 30 matches wins his freedom. Simon (Logan Lerman) controls Kable (Gerard Butler) the on-line champion of the game having won 27 matches and lived through them all, with his every move tracked by millions, his ultimate challenge becomes regaining his identity and independence by defeating the game’s mastermind (Michael C. Hall) through launching an attack on the system that has imprisoned him.

MTrailer: Tron Legacy

Tron Legacy (2010)
I watched this movie when I was a kid and thought this was the coolest shit. I mean the red and blue lights, the speed: oh the fast movements, it was crazy and to a small kid this was amazement but when I heard Disney (Only heard and not saw because the trailer premiered at the San Diego Comic Con and let’s be honest, it was never going to reach on the East Coast (Hollywood and their ilk likes to play in their own backyard.) until they were done with it but I was like, “No.”) decided to add a sequel to this movie, I was like, “Hollywood is already raping my childhood left and right so at this point, should I care.”

Apparently from the trailer which I’m going to present in a moment means I guess I can care just a little bit for a little longer. I mean it does have the original Flynn, Jeff Bridges reappearing in the movie along with Bruce Boxleitner. That alone has me intrigued, no.

One thing: The colors used to be red and blue, right? Now they are yellow and aqua?

Oscar AwardSynopsis:
[Wikipedia] According to a Disney press release, the storyline for the film is: “Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidante (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

MTrailer: Blood: The Last Vampire

Blood: The Last Vampire (2009)
I love movies with action, women in action, women doing something besides looking pretty and kicking ass in action. This movie based on the anime which I was watching over a year ago and thought it was great until I made the mistake of going to Wikipedia and inadvertently saw the ending which turned me off completely and never went back to it but Racialicious posted the live action trailer so I want to watch it but I check out the official’s site and couldn’t find a theater that will be showing in Connecticut or the Tri-state area. The movie will be released to U.S. theaters sometime in July.

The title character Saya is played by South Korean actress Jun Ju-Hyun has change her name to Gianna Jun. I believe it’s her first English speaking role and movie. Question: Why do Asian actresses seem to anglicise or just change their name in total for Western audience. I know I probably answered my own question by saying that but I could learn to say their name.

Oscar AwardSynopsis:
[Filmofilia] Born to a human father and a vampire mother, 16-year-old Saya hides the tormented soul of a 400-year-old halfling. Though knowing that she too survives only on blood, this loner has been obsessed to get rid of vampires using her samurai skills for centuries. When she is sent onto an American military base in Tokyo, she sees it as the opportunity to destroy Onigen, the evil patriarch of all vampires. Soon after befriending the young daughter of the base’s general, she learns about her true power.

MTrailer: New Longer G.I. Joe Trailer

Now when I heard they were planning on a live action G.I. Joe movie, I was like, “please don’t fuck up my childhood” several times as you very well know by now that Hollywood has officially run out of ideas and then I saw that Marlon Wayans was in it, I was like, “they are not serious???” but the first trailer shot trailer that we were introduced to at the SuperBowl has been expanded and it was like, “Oh my god, it looks good, I’m going to see this when it opens… Oh yeah Marlon Wayans isn’t looking like a dick.” but I haven’t seen the movie yet. :)

So crossing fingers, let’s hear your take on it.

And I think they are right, any villains needed, called upon the British.
