MTrailer: Salt

Salt (2010) If you frequent my corner of the web you’ll know that I have a major love for action movies, the best are “female oriented action movies” and it seems that Hollywood has given the role is given to a few, fuck it they give it to only one. Angelina Joile. Next year she has a movie coming out that hits all my buttons for me. I am so enjoying this trailer but I so wished there were more movies with women with action genre on their resume. Sigh.
Synopsis:
[Call Me Al] Angelina Jolie stars in this thriller as Evelyn Salt, a loyal CIA operative who is in trouble when a defector names her as a Russian spy. Salt uses every skill and her years of experience to her disposal to elude capture by her colleagues. However every avenue she uses to prove her innocence, more suspicions come to light as they all begin to wonder, Who is Salt?

MTrailer: The Prisoner

The Prisoner (2009)
I didn’t know they were remaking “The Prisoner”. I watched the original series as a child on PBS. But this time is premiering on the AMC channel (combo producing of AMC and ITV) and from the previews it looks like an action action miniseries than the cerebral action television show of the 60’s. Either way it has Ian McKellen (as #2) and James Caviezel (as #6). I’m not a fan of this decade’s film and television TPTB’s need to remake and recycle every thing from the past but the battle between #6 and #2, whether action or cerebral, is something I really want to watch. So I go again into the breach and give hope that this is going to be good (It has Magneto and the Outlander, what could go wrong.
). It premieres November 09. See the 9 minute trailer below.
Synopsis:
[AMC] A man known as Six (Jim Caviezel) finds himself trapped in a bizarre place called the “The Village” led by a man known as Two (Ian McKellen). Two holds the secrets of escape, and Six must defeat him — or else stay in The Village forever.

3 Nights 4 Days (2009)
Recent Bollywood movie that I heard about having a bisexual female character so I posted here. It opened October 2009. I have added two synopsis (general and the specific) and two trailers (movie and about the movie) because the movie trailer doesn’t explain well for me and the extra synopsis for the bisexual topic. Enjoy.
Synopsis:
[One India] 3 Nights 4 Days is about four friends Rahul, Rocky, Amay, Priya, Antara, Zoha who were best of the friends in Pune University. It’s been three years since they passed out and parted ways. They all were completely out of touch, being busy in their respective career.
Now Rocky is getting married in Goa with his two year old girlfriend Marianne who is from Croatia. This is the time of reunion old friends reunite to join Rocky on his wedding in Goa but things are not the same with Rahul, Priya and Zoha…their personalities have changed, their ideologies have changed, their commitments and goals have changed while Amay and Antara are just the same.
As they set off on this trip, things start coming out in the form of conversations and activities, they all witness Marianne backing away from the commitment of marriage leaving Rocky bereft but she finally comes back after realizing that falling in love with Rocky was the best thing to happen to her.
[Bollyspice] The new teen movie 3 Nights 4 Days has one added factor not found in most Bollywood movies – a bisexual character. The plot revolves around a group of ex-college students who meet up in Goa for a party reunion. One of the characters, played by Madhuri Bhattacharya, is now a successful bisexual fashion designer called Zoha who still has a crush on her former college friend Antara. (Hrishitaa Bhatt).
Madhuri has built up quite a reputation in Sandalwood with movies such as Yella OK, Maduve Yake but, with the support of long-time friend Arbaaz Khan, felt now was the time to move up to the big league. “I always wanted to do something bigger, and since my Hindi is very good, I thought it would be a good idea to move,” she explained.
She is confident she has what it takes to make it big in Mumbai. “I have always believed in myself and it is this conviction that has always given me an edge over others,” confirmed the winner of six beauty pageants. Is she worried by people jumping to conclusions if you project a sexy image in the industry? “Yes, people do judge you if you are considered hot. But I don’t let that bother me. This is how I am. I wouldn’t trade being hot for people saying nice things about me. I don’t really care for controversies, they blow over – but I stay hot!”

MTrailer: Ninja Assassin

Ninja Assassin (2009)
I like action movies, I like violent movies but I don’t like horror or slasher films like “Saw”. I find those movies bad in gratuitous violence without any reasoning behind it. It feels creepy in a bad serial killer way, in “I never want this to be real anywhere in the world” way. How do these movies get a “R” instead of NC-17 rating will continue to baffle me. (Actually it doesn’t baffle me, a little brain power and apply with what’s going on in the -U.S. Health Industry- to the -Ratings Board (MPAA)/U.S. Movie Industry- can get great comparability.) Anyhoo, Ninja Assassin don’t seem to have that creepy evil equality but has the “purposeful violence” that I am looking for, so I’ve posted the trailer here. It is slated for November 2009.
Hey! Is this the same “Rain” that had the dance-off with Steven Colbert! Interest peaked!
Synopsis:
[IDMB] Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.
In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.

M/F – F/F
Synopsis:
[Cinemablend] The movie first introduces us to Kat (Milla Jovovich), who lives in a shoddy New York apartment with her aggressive boyfriend Big Al (Angus Macfadyen). A very dominant character and respected gun dealer, Big Al is convinced he reigns over the entire neighborhood. When Kat decides to get into the gun business herself and starts selling weapons behind Al’s back, his jealousy tosses him into an explosion of rage that leads to a gruesome rape. With the help of a devoted social worker (Aisha Tyler) and her bisexual friend Vic (Sarah Strange), Kat finally finds the necessary courage to engage in a vicious act of revenge that could free her from Al once and for all.
Short Version: A story of how obsession, addiction and abuse leads a young woman (Jovovich) to execute an elaborate plan of revenge.
Review:
I don’t get bored with Milla Jovovich movies, this movie I can watch more than once but twice? That’s where it gets a little muddled. Watching it for the first time (this was after not looking at any movies with bi/poly attachments, so this group including this movie is from the batch I saw prior to vacation.) I was looking for different things for the blog like any bi behaviors and Milla (Kat) does exhibit them (I will say all the females in this movie) so I wondered in what context and it’s in her relationships; the bastard of a boyfriend, her female best friend who lust after her, the boyfriend’s friend and his rival who lust after her and the social worker who gets closer to her than the others. (In all these relationships she responds to all, some more strongly than others for her ends.)
On the second run I just watched and it plays as a simple deception movie. Once you figure out where the characters stand with main character Kat (Jovovich). She is a woman desperate to leave an abusive relationship but doesn’t know how. Or does she? Because as the story progress you already picked up one the facts is that she “relying on the kindness of strangers” or should I say “relying on the kindness of friends” a little to well. Almost manipulatively well….
Anyway, I stayed until the end even when I figured out the twist and all her deceptions fell into place there really was only two people who felt betrayed by her; one who deserved it and one who didn’t. All in all, rent if you can find it.

Gamer (2009)
I saw a different trailer/commercial for this movie and saw John Leguizamo first and thought hey he doesn’t make supremely sucky films, then I saw Gerard Butler who I think is adorable but learned very recently via the Craig Ferguson show that Americans have been pronouncing his first name wrong. Ooops. It is closer to the Jared, like the Subway guy. Anyhoo between them and Michael C. Hall, Ludacris, and Kyra Sedgwick. If not, Oscar it seems like a good popcorn movie.
Synopsis:
[Wikipedia] In 2034, mind-control technology has taken society by storm, and a multiplayer on-line game called “Slayers” allows gamers to control human death row prisoners in mass-scale deathmatches. Any inmate who lives through 30 matches wins his freedom. Simon (Logan Lerman) controls Kable (Gerard Butler) the on-line champion of the game having won 27 matches and lived through them all, with his every move tracked by millions, his ultimate challenge becomes regaining his identity and independence by defeating the game’s mastermind (Michael C. Hall) through launching an attack on the system that has imprisoned him.

Tron Legacy (2010)
I watched this movie when I was a kid and thought this was the coolest shit. I mean the red and blue lights, the speed: oh the fast movements, it was crazy and to a small kid this was amazement but when I heard Disney (Only heard and not saw because the trailer premiered at the San Diego Comic Con and let’s be honest, it was never going to reach on the East Coast (Hollywood and their ilk likes to play in their own backyard.) until they were done with it but I was like, “No.”) decided to add a sequel to this movie, I was like, “Hollywood is already raping my childhood left and right so at this point, should I care.”
Apparently from the trailer which I’m going to present in a moment means I guess I can care just a little bit for a little longer. I mean it does have the original Flynn, Jeff Bridges reappearing in the movie along with Bruce Boxleitner. That alone has me intrigued, no.
One thing: The colors used to be red and blue, right? Now they are yellow and aqua?
Synopsis:
[Wikipedia] According to a Disney press release, the storyline for the film is: “Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidante (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.
