I decided to have a action movie weekend, I haven’t decided to give my full opinions on them but if your interested in what I have seen so far, I rated 1-5:
A History of Violence:
Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) is living a happy and quiet life with his lawyer wife (Maria Bello) and their two children in the small town of Millbrook, Indiana. One night, though, their idyllic existence is shattered when Tom foils a vicious attempted robbery in his diner. He takes action and saves his customers and friends in the self-defense killings of two-sought-after criminals. Heralded as a hero, Tom’s life is changed overnight, attracting a national media circus, which forces him into the spotlight. Uncomfortable with his newfound celebrity, Tom tries to return to the normalcy of his ordinary life only to be confronted by a mysterious and threatening man (Ed Harris) who arrives in town believing Tom is the man who’s wronged him in the past.

Eastern Promises:
Criminal mastermind Nikolai (Viggo Mortensen) finds his ties to a notorious Russian crime family in London, England shaken when he crosses paths with Anna (Naomi Watts), a midwife who has accidentally uncovered evidence against them dealing with the boss and his son and a dead pregnant woman. Their unusual relationship sets off an unstoppable chain of murder, mystery and deception.

Enemy at the Gates:
During the WWII battle of Stalingrad, two snipers, a Russian (Jude Law), and a German (Ed Harris), are locked in a battle of wills and marksmenship, while the Russian is boosted to the status of hero by a political official (Ralph Fiennes).

However, the boys’ investigation into her death reveals more nefarious activities involving the one brother’s business dealings with a notorious local hoodlum. Two cops investigating the crime may also not be what they seem.

In London, a real-estate scam puts millions of pounds up for grabs, attracting some of the city’s scrappiest tough guys and its more established underworld types, all of whom are looking to get rich quick. While the city’s seasoned criminals vie for the cash, an unexpected player — a drugged out rock ‘n’ roller presumed to be dead but very much alive — has a multi-million dollar prize fall into his hands.

I try to extend my web skills to find out more media to add to the site and instead I find newsworthy pieces.
First Up:
Poly Web Series “Family” that is shown on Youtube and at NorthWest Live and which I sometime post here as an embedded post. Well it seems that one of the actors, Ernie Joseph who plays Ben on the show was fired from a possibly lucrative deal for an Australian olive oil company OliVaylle, maybe to become the face of their line of products because he acted as a polyamory man in a web series…

Yeah, I am scratching my head about that too.
Next:
Chance Nalley, a teacher at Columbia Secondary School invited his students to his commitment ceremony. A good portion is planning to go and it was sweet because it was something that should be taken as “normal” but I love this part:
He is expecting about two-thirds of the school’s 96 seventh graders at the ceremony, on April 4 at St. Paul’s Chapel on Columbia University’s campus (he had to hire an extra security guard because so many children were coming). Four seventh graders, approached at random on Friday, said they planned to be there.
Were they surprised to learn he was gay?
“He’s not gay,” said Japhet Guzman, 12.
“No,” agreed a lanky 13-year-old who walked with a bit of a tough-guy swagger, “he’s not gay. He’s bisexual. Why don’t you ask him?” (Mr. Nalley confirmed this.)
It was too funny when the children know better the correct words than the adults. Sweet story.

Lastly:
Iowa is now the third state in the union to legalize gay marriage, while the wording “gay marriage” that either the media or population use I think a bit wrongly is still a good thing.

I read my mission statement as I’ll probably revise it at some point wondered if there are more bisexual &/ poly themed movies out readily available to watch so I go to Amazon.com and typed bisexual search under Movies & TV.
Well, that was helpful. A couple of actual movie, Dateline news and majority of porn…. As for poly, not so unexpected… Mormons. and nothing much else.
I will try my best to have a decent list so the next person after will not frustrated as I am now.
Back to regular schedule programming….

Steam (2009)
I heard about this movie last year checking out FSF and if I get a chance to see it here in CT as I’m not planning to go to NY any time soon, I’ll write a review for it later.
Synopsis:
[Yahoo Movies] At the local gym steam room three very different women escape from their troubles and find ways to overcome their personal struggles. Laurie, who is still allowing herself to be manipulated by her ex-husband, is suddenly pursued by her son’s much younger football coach. Elizabeth, a freshman at Rutgers University, struggles to free herself from her parents controlling grip as she slowly comes to terms with her sexuality through a crush on a politically active female student. Doris, who has lost her husband a year ago, can no longer find much to live for. Since her husband’s death she has given up all the joys they enjoyed together, most notably her love for singing. The women find who they are through their romances, getting the strength they need to overcome whatever is holding them back.
